The 8th Model Asian Union, hosted by the AECF (Asia Economic Community Forum) and supported by the city of Incheon and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, invites undergraduate and graduate school students from around the world!

The Model Asian Union is a presentation-based competition that requires participating teams (consisted of two people per team) to present their ideas regarding a possible Model Asian Union with the submitted proposal papers as their base. Two different leagues of English and Korean will be seperately held. The participants in each league will be seperately evaluated and rewarded. Total of 16 teams per league will be invited to Incheon to share their ideas for one round of preliminary presentation and subsequently the Finals.

The winning team from the Best proposal section will be rewarded by the Chairman of One Asia Foundation. The winning team from the Best presentation section will be rewarded by the Chairman of Asia Economic Community Foundation, and the winning team from the Best idea section will be rewarded by the Secretary General of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat. Presentation and proposal of each team will be evaluated under a set of criteria such as the power of logic, delivery, and creativity. For those who are future leader of Asia, this competition will serve as a momentum to think the future of the Asian Union which is not yet fully founded.

Qualification & How to apply
All college and graduate school students from around the world are eligible for application. Two participants, regardless of where they belong, must form a team and choose either the English or Korean league to compete in. Participants should submit a proposal paper in a language that they have chosen during the designated period, and this proposal paper will be the basis for presentation and discussion during the actual competition. Please refer to the below for the topic of proposal paper.

Payment of Entry Fee : Within 48 hours after your registration. Please Note that those who fail to finalize the payment in time shall be disqualified and will be required to register again.
  • Your registration will be cancelled if you do not pay for the entry fee within 48 hours after the registration.
  • Refund of registration will only be made when your proposal paper has been denied and thus when the applicant could not participate in the preliminary round.
  • During the tournament, meals and accommodation will be provided, and a certificate will be given after the tournament.
